Talk to Your Body to Heal Faster

This isn’t mystical — it’s neurobiology.

Your brain, immune system, hormones, and gut constantly communicate (via the vagus nerve, cytokines, and neurotransmitters). Your thoughts influence that signaling.

When You Speak Harshly to Yourself

↑ Cortisol

↑ Sympathetic activation

How to Do It Effectively

1. Regulate first
Slow breathing (4–6 breaths/min) for 2–3 minutes.

2. Speak directly

“Body, you’re working hard.”

“We are safe.”

“You can repair.”

3. Be specific

Gut pain → “Stomach, soften.”

Injury → “Cells, rebuild.”

Fatigue → “Energy can restore.”

4. Add touch
Hand on the area + calm voice strengthens safety signaling.

In Spinal Flow language, the Base Gateway (think root chakra/energy center) lives at the tailbone and legs. When it's stressed, life can feel like walking around with an invisible alarm bell ringing:
- Constant low-level anxiety
- Depression that feels like "what's the point?"
- Trouble relaxing, even when you should feel safe.
In a Spinal Flow session, as we gently work with the Base Gateway, the body often responds with a deep exhale, heavier "melting" into the table, and a feeling of finally being present. The nervous system starts to shift out of constant survival and into rest, repair and belonging.
