We’ve gotten really good at telling women to “just live with it.”
Painful periods? “That’s normal.”
Exhaustion? “You’re just busy.”
Bloating? “Everyone gets that.”
Brain fog? “You’re getting older.”
PMS that takes over your month? “That’s just hormones.”
But common doesn’t always mean something you have to accept as your normal. 💛
From a functional medicine perspective, symptoms are information. They can be an opportunity to slow down, look at patterns, and ask why something is happening—not simply how to make the symptom disappear.
That may mean looking at the bigger picture: your cycle, stress, sleep, nutrition, digestion, lifestyle, medications, and other aspects of your health.
This doesn’t mean every symptom has one simple root cause—or that every symptom signals a serious problem. It means you deserve to have your concerns heard and explored.
You know when you don’t feel like yourself. You’re allowed to ask questions. You’re allowed to seek answers. And you don’t have to dismiss your symptoms simply because they’re common. 🌿
Save this as a reminder: your experience is worth paying attention to.
