If intuitive eating has turned into feeling like you’re constantly reaching for chips, cookies, chocolate, or whatever else is calling to you from the pantry…
Throwing the "junk" food away isn't going to make the situation any better.
One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is jumping straight from years of dieting into “I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want” and expecting their body to magically know what to do.
That’s not how you learn to trust yourself (and your body) with food again.
Your body needs consistent, reliable and predictable nourishment first. You need to PROVE to your body that the restriction isn't happening again.
You need to learn how to create meals and snacks that actually feel satisfying (and that goes beyond just tasting good - satisfaction also means what makes your body FEEL good - not give you an energy crash or stomach ache).
AND you need to intentionally practice eating the foods you feel powerless around so they can finally lose their charm.
There’s an ORDER to this work. And trying to do allllll of the aspects of intuitive eating at once is a recipe for disaster.
And when you skip the foundational pieces, you can spend months (or years 😵💫) thinking you’re “doing intuitive eating” while still feeling completely out of control around food.
❌ You don’t need to throw away the chips.
❌ You don’t need to replace them with the “healthier” version you secretly don’t even want.
❌ And you definitely don’t need another diet.
