Your team has today off.

They're also sitting on about a third of their vacation days — and nearly one in four took no vacation at all last year.

One holiday is not a rest strategy.

When people are asked why they don't take the time they've already earned, the answer is almost never "I didn't want it." It's the workload waiting on the other side. It's not wanting to hand their work to a colleague who's already carrying too much. It's the quiet math that says a week away costs two weeks to recover from.

That is not a willpower problem. It's a coverage-design problem.

And it's the same design flaw that makes a mandated wellness day land as one more thing to catch up from. You can't restore a nervous system that knows the inbox is compounding while it rests. The body doesn't downshift on command — it downshifts when it has evidence that stepping away is actually safe.

So the question this Labor Day isn't whether your people rested today.

It's whether anything in how the work is structured would let them.

Who covers what. Who decides what waits. What is genuinely allowed to go undone.

Answer those, and the days off start getting used.

Your body is always communicating with you—and this is where an integrative approach to health can change the conversation.

The tension. The brain fog. The restlessness. The exhaustion. The feeling that you should be able to keep going—but something in you is asking for a pause.

Instead of separating your physical health, emotional wellbeing, nervous system, and daily rhythms into different boxes, whole-person care looks at how they’re connected—and how small shifts can support you where you are right now.

That’s the idea behind a micro-break: not another thing to add to your already-full day, but a small moment of reconnection.

✨ 2 minutes.
✨ One intentional reset.
✨ A chance to listen to what your body may be asking for.

Want to find out what kind of micro-break your nervous system may need right now?

Executives, before you plan Q4, try a different kind of checklist. 👇

Not more tasks.
Questions.

Because leaders who can regulate their own nervous system don't just manage their calendars better. They change the room they walk into.

Acupressure is a form of nervous system regulation you can do with your own two hands, anytime, anywhere. ✨

It isn't a Swedish massage. It's precise — the same points acupuncture uses, worked with steady pressure instead of needles. A direct line to your nervous system, no appointment required.

Two minutes, one thumb, the right point. And when you want to go deeper, Shiatsu and TEAM with a practitioner will show you what your body's been holding that you'd stopped noticing.

Start where you are. Your hands are enough to begin. 🌿

acupressure massage for better post-vacation focus

Vacation ended. Your nervous system didn't get the memo. 🫣

That foggy, can't-focus feeling after time off isn't laziness — it's scattered Heart Qi. You don't need to power through it. You need permission to land. This is HT-7, Shen Men: the same point from the post-meeting reset, this time for the harder transition back into a full calendar.

🗓️ Save this for your next first day back. That's when you'll need it.

Stress and burnout don't mean you're broken. It means you stopped being able to hear what your nervous system is trying to tell you.

Good News! It's a skill you can rebuild, not a flaw you have to manage forever.

Saving this one for when you need this reminder.

Every wellness account tells you to "just breathe."

I'm not going to. ❌

As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, breath alone doesn't move stuck qi — here's the point I go to instead. This is PC-6, Pericardium 6: three finger-widths above the wrist crease, between the two tendons.

"Just breathe" is a start. It was never the whole answer. 🌱

HT-3 — Recall the Qi
Take a full breath. Right now.

If it stops in your chest and never reaches your belly — that’s not a breathing problem. That’s a nervous system already in September, running your next steps before you’ve gotten there.

Quick fix, ten seconds:
Find HT-3. Bend your elbow. It’s on the inside of the crease, right next to that bony k**b on the inner side.
Press gently. Rub in small circles. Take two or three slow breaths while you’re there.

That’s it. It gathers the qi and quiets the mind — and the breath drops from your chest into your belly on its own. You’re not forcing it down. You’re giving it somewhere to land. ❤️

Save this before your calendar fills back up.

You don't need me to tell you your nervous system is bracing for re-entry. You already know — you just haven't been taught to listen.

As you read these, notice which one your body recognized before your mind did.

Your body isn't broken. Your symptoms are intelligent. Health begins when you learn to read yourself.
