A sun bath at sunrise
When people talk about signs and synchronicities being everywhere and remaining open to recognize them, this is one of those times. This green gal has been hanging out in this basket on my deck for several days. On the opposite corner of the deck is a brown gal who has also taken up residence. They are newly arrived post lunar eclipse.
With spiritual significance of the praying mantis spanning Ancient African Lore, Christian Traditions, Ancient Egypt and Greece, I found their messages to be exceedingly exact for my life at present. I found another layer in noticing both their color and location when I stumbled upon them. At its most simple, nature is reminding me to focus on stillness, patience, mindfulness/intention and divine guidance. I break it down more deeply for you below.
Core Spiritual Meanings
* Stillness and Peace: The insect stays very still for a long time. It reminds you to slow down, stop worrying, and find calm in your day.
* Intuition and Timing: The mantis waits for the exact right moment to move. It teaches you to trust your inner voice and wait for the right time to act.
* Prayer and Reflection: Its folded front legs look like hands in prayer. Many people view it as a symbol of piety, devotion, and quiet meditation.
The Green gal: her color represents growth, healing, harmony and fresh starts. She is taking up residence on the left side of my deck. Traditionally the left side of the body represents feminine energy. She is bringing my attention to and acknowledging the ways the divine feminine in me is being supported through healing and fresh starts.
The Brown gal: her color represents grounding, stability, and quiet patience. (Which may be why she retreated into a space I couldn’t photograph her). She resides on a plant on the right side of my deck. Traditionally in the energy realms, the right side represents masculine energy. The “doer” side of me is reminded of patience, remaining stable, and allowing alignment IS an action choice.
Take moments to really pay attention to your surroundings this week. What stands out for you? What is asking for your attention?
