A Few Things About the Chakras You May Not Know...
Most of us have encountered the chakras as seven colorful energy centers, each connected with a particular emotion, body part or aspect of our personality.
But the history of the chakras is far more varied—and much more fascinating—than the familiar rainbow chart suggests.
There was never just one chakra system. The colors were not always those of the rainbow. The chakras were not originally associated with endocrine glands, and their primary purpose was not simply to make us feel more balanced.
They were part of rich systems of meditation and inner practice designed to transform how we experience the body, energy, consciousness and the nature of the Self.
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing a few surprising facts about the chakras as we move closer to "Exploring the Chakras" - a workshop I'll be leading on September 12 and 13.
Some may challenge what you think you know—and hopefully inspire you to become even more curious.
