Back in college👩🏻🎓, standing over a donor body in dissection lab, I was holding the actual physical wiring of human vitality. (Fun Fact- I also dissected the testicles, because no one else would, but that’s not why we’re here today.)
Why am I bringing this up? The anatomical link and location similarity between chakras and nerve centers is where somatic touch, breathwork, and reiki do their deepest work.
🔅An example: in the abdomen at the 3rd chakra, you find the celiac ganglia and plexus, a major interchange for autonomic fibers receiving nerves as they course toward the abdominal organs. Right alongside those nerves, passing directly through the diaphragm, is the vagus nerve. This is why we do breath-work to help massage that vagus nerve and relax the diaphragm. Reiki to release the tension in the abdominal area and remove distress at the celiac plexus.
✨The way nerve centers and chakra centers overlay so perfectly changed how I viewed the human body forever and is at the core of how I approach somatic work today.
Did you make it this far? Yay SCIENCE! 🫀
