Few topics in women’s health spark stronger opinions than GLP-1s.

Whether you see them as a breakthrough, a shortcut, or a symptom of a larger problem, the emerging research is difficult to ignore.

Researchers are investigating everything from cardiovascular disease and sleep apnea to addiction, reward pathways, and metabolic health. Questions that, until recently, weren’t part of the GLP-1 conversation at all.

None of this means these medications are right for everyone, or that there aren’t risks, limitations, or important tradeoffs to consider.

It simply means the story may be more complex than many of us initially thought.

The most interesting conversations in health happen when we’re willing to follow the evidence and remain curious about what we don’t yet fully understand.

Should women be microdosing GLP-1s?

Microdosing refers to taking a fraction of the standard GLP-1 dose, often with the goal of reducing side effects while still receiving some of the benefits.

What’s interesting is that many women aren’t just talking about weight loss.

They’re talking about less food noise, anxiety, and mental chatter.

In this conversation, Dr. Sarah de la Torre shares how some of her patients describe the experience:

“I never knew my brain could be so quiet.”

Some women are even reporting improvements in mood, sleep, and overall quality of life, particularly when GLP-1s are combined with other interventions like hormone therapy.

The research is still evolving. But the conversation around GLP-1s is becoming much bigger than the number on the scale.
