Sometimes I stand in the shop on a busy weekend, look around, and think... this is what I dreamed of.

When I started Tea & Tarot, I never wanted to build a business around just one reader. I wanted to create a place where people could find the right practitioner for them—a community of talented readers with different gifts, perspectives, and specialties.

Today, 16 practitioners (including some new ones we are introducing this week!) show up for our guests each weekend, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built together.

The thing I’m most proud of isn’t just their talent—it’s their integrity.

We believe that this type of work
deserves professionalism.

It was so important to me to design a space that raised the level of professionalism that focused on serving first. We refer guests to one another when someone else’s gifts are a better fit. We respect ethical boundaries. We know when spiritual guidance is enough, and when someone would be better supported by a therapist, physician, or another licensed professional. Every member of someone’s support team has an important role, and we’re honored to be one part of that journey. I truly believe we’re helping redefine what professional spiritual care can look like.

After more than 10 years reading tarot professionally and 6 years building Tea & Tarot, I’ve learned lessons that go far beyond card meanings. I’ve learned what it takes to hold space with integrity, build trust, create sustainable practices, and serve people well.

That’s exactly why I created my Level 2 Program: The Holistic Tarot Practitioner Advanced Training & Certification.

If you’ve been reading for yourself or friends and are feeling called to step into this work professionally, I’d love to share everything I’ve learned with you.

✨ Our next cohort begins August 6. I can’t wait to help train the next generation of ethical, compassionate tarot practitioners. If you’ve been waiting for a sign... this might be it! ā¤ļø

Someone recently asked me how I took the leap of faith to open my shop.

Here’s the honest answer: there was never a single isolated moment where I had 100% proof ahead of time that it would work.

BUT here’s what I’ve come to know about myself — my intuition gets sure of something long before the evidence ever shows up in the 3D. I could feel this shop before I could see it. I knew the smell of the tea, the creak of the floors, the way people would exhale the second they walked in. I felt all of it before a single thing was real. And I took the risk anyway.

For about five years, I worked my ā€œmuggleā€ job right alongside building this dream. Early mornings, late nights, weekends — pouring into something that didn’t fully exist yet, while still clocking into a world that didn’t quite fit me anymore.

Then last summer, when I was 4 months pregnant with Willow, the Universe finally pushed me out of corporate for good. I got laid off. (Sometimes the leap isn’t a leap — it’s a push. šŸ˜…)

And listen — I won’t pretend the fear ever fully goes away. I still have moments of uncertainty. Moments where I question, where the doubt creeps in, where the path forward isn’t lit. But I made a promise to myself a long time ago: I refuse to give up on me.

If you’re standing at the edge of your own leap, waiting for proof before you jump — THIS is your sign. Sometimes the knowing comes first. The evidence always comes after. ✨

What’s the leap you’re being called to take? Tell me below so I can cheer you on! āœØšŸ™ŒšŸ½āœØ

Yesterday, The Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

In a 6–3 ruling, the Court’s conservative majority dismantled the last major legal shield protecting Black and brown communities from racial gerrymandering.

This is not abstract. This is about who gets to have a voice — and who gets silenced.

As Witches, we believe in the interconnection of all things. We know what persecution looks like. We know that magic without justice is just aesthetics.

So we are paying attention. And we are asking you to do the same.

Swipe through. Learn what happened. Share it. Show up.

This is not a time for indifference — especially if you think it isn’t happening to you.šŸ•Æļø

Oh, my sweet little Bean! She got to feel the sand between her toes in one of my family’s favorite places, Anguilla. It has been like a second home to us for over 20 years. When my little sister passed three years ago, we released her ashes into those same waves. And just a few weeks ago, we returned to send my Mom to be with her.

Four months into motherhood, and I already feel how layered it is. So much love, and so much tenderness as I navigate this without my own Mom. Some days feel really really hard, and others feel so full it almost does not make sense how both can exist at once.

I searched for moments of stillness sitting at the kitchen table in the house we always stayed in... remembering family dinners, card games, and the simple joy of planning the next beach day. Twenty years of memories stored in every corner of the house.

I picked flowers and collected shells to make a small altar for my Mom’s tribute. I found some peace in trying to make something beautiful for her.

Standing there with my family as we said goodbye, I felt the weight of what I have lost and the clarity of what I now have. It brought me right back to my daughter and reminded me how sacred this role is.

I am so grateful my Mom left us in the loving hands of her younger sisters, our ā€œAunt-tourage,ā€ if you will. Willow is surrounded by incredible women who raised me, and it means everything to give her even a piece of the magic that I was given.

I didn’t build my business from theory. I built it from lived experience.

For people like me… who were never meant to fit neatly into the corporate world.

And to be clear, I did well there. I spent over 22 years as a video producer, building a career, showing up, succeeding in all the ways I was supposed to. But deep down, I always knew it wasn’t what I was truly called to do.

I wasn’t meant to just create videos for other brands.
I was meant to create experiences.
Experiences where people could explore their gifts, grow into their confidence and build something that actually feels aligned with who they are.

That’s the heart of how I teach.
I don’t just focus on tarot as a skill. I focus on the person behind it. I care deeply about helping practitioners and students step into their own voice, trust themselves, and move toward their individual goals in a way that feels sustainable and real.

I see this work as something much bigger than learning the cards!

I believe many of us are being called into deeper, more meaningful work and I’m passionate about creating pathways that make that possible.

For myself.
And for anyone who feels that same pull.

Burnout doesn’t always look like falling apart.

Sometimes it looks like showing up every day, doing everything you’re ā€œsupposedā€ to do and still feeling disconnected from your own life.

Like you built something that looks good on paper but doesn’t feel like you anymore.

My generation (millennials) were taught that if we worked hard enough, we’d feel secure, fulfilled, and stable. But when the reality doesn’t match that promise, it doesn’t mean we failed. It means something needs to shift.

For a lot of us, that shift starts quietly, like
a curiosity, a pull, a question we can’t ignore.
There’s more for you than burnout.
There’s more than just getting through the week.
And you’re allowed to explore what that could look like. ✨

Being away from the shop wasn’t easy for me.

Small businesses are delicate ecosystems—held together by a few deeply committed, well-coordinated people. When even one person steps away, even for something as important as maternity leave, you can feel the shift.

The rhythm changes.
The weight redistributes.
The boat rocks a little.
And it was hard not being there.

I missed my regulars. I missed the conversations, the familiar faces, the energy that fills the space each day.

I missed being with my team... collaborating, supporting, and moving things forward together.

I missed the creative flow of it all… dreaming up new products, planning for the next season, bringing ideas to life.

There’s a part of me that is so deeply tied to what we’ve built that stepping away felt unnatural.

And at the same time… I knew I needed to.

My body was asking me to slow down, to step back, to be present in a way that business never quite allows. It asked me to trust that what we’ve built could hold, even if I wasn’t there every moment guiding it.

Coming back hasn’t been a simple switch either. It’s been a recalibration—learning how to be both here and there, both present in my work and present in my life in a new way.

Holding the business I love… while holding this new version of myself.

And if I’m honest, I’m still finding that balance.

There was a time when I was giving a LOT of free readings!

I told myself it was for practice… and it was. But if I’m being honest, part of it was also because I didn’t fully trust myself yet. I didn’t feel confident charging. I wasn’t sure I was ā€œready.ā€

And I see this all the time with my own team of Practitioners.

So many incredibly talented people stay stuck in that phase, not because they aren’t gifted, but because they haven’t learned how to bridge the gap between knowing the cards and working with real people.

What changed everything for me wasn’t just getting better at tarot.

It was learning how to understand the person sitting across from me.

To create safety in a session.

To listen for what was actually being asked—beyond the surface question.

That’s when my readings started to land differently.

That’s when people felt seen.
That’s when they came back.
That’s when it became sustainable.

Because people don’t come back just for the cards. They come back for how you made them feel.

For the clarity you helped them find.
For the way you held them in a moment where they needed support.

If you’ve been stuck in the ā€œfree readingsā€ phase, it’s not a sign that you’re not good enough. It’s usually a sign that you’re ready for the next level of your practice.

And that next level has less to do with memorization… and everything to do with how you show up.

I created a checklist to help you Tarot for Success Checklist just for you. It walks you through the key pieces most professional readers are missing when it comes to working with real, paying clients.

There was a time when I started learning everything I could about plants out of necessity.

I was going through a personal health journey and felt like my body was asking for something different… something deeper. I started studying herbs, not really knowing where it would lead, just knowing I needed to understand them.

And somewhere along the way, I fell in love!

I dove into classes at Twin Star Herbal Education, soaking up everything I could. Many of the blends we still carry today—our medicinal teas, some of our most beloved recipes—were born during that time. Sitting with the plants, learning their language, experimenting, listening.

I still remember the feeling of selling my first few blends at a wellness expo. I was so lit up. Getting to talk about the plants, what they do, how they support the body… it felt like something in me clicked into place.

And now, almost 8 years later, I still get to make those same blends.

There’s something really special about that. About knowing these recipes have been with me through so many seasons of my life—and now they get to support you through yours.

This work has never just been about tea.

It’s about connection. Healing. Remembering that the earth has always known how to care for us.

And I’m so grateful I listened when it called!🌿
