What if we start seeing everything as an offer?

Seeing every experience, every emotion, every interaction as an invitation, not a demand or a punishment.

It's a shift from reaction to choice.

It doesn’t mean everything that happens is right or good.

It means that everything holds the possibility of growth, awareness, or insight if we choose to accept the invitation, the offer.

That’s sovereignty.

If I had to choose a plant that embodies sovereignty, it would be Oak because it reminds me that sovereignty isn't about controlling life. It's about standing rooted in yourself, no matter what life offers.

Goldenrod harvest time!

The name Goldenrod is wonderfully literal.

It comes from Old English roots: golden for the bright yellow flowers of late summer, and rod, meaning a straight stem or staff.

But the name is more than a description.

It sounds like a golden wand, a staff, a scepter. Something upright, radiant, and powerful.

It’s like a golden staff running through your center, a gentle but unwavering alignment of soul and self.

Goldenrod reminds you what it feels like to stand in your own light. To move through the world with integrity.

So, Goldenrod is more than a name. It’s a posture. A frequency. It's the medicine of standing upright in your own life.

Hot weather calls for a pitcher of Lemon Balm tea.

Here's how I make it:

A big handful of fresh Lemon Balm

Pour just-boiled water over it and let it steep for 30 minutes to an hour, until it's warm rather than hot.

Lid on.

The longer steep draws out more of Lemon Balm's moistening, calming qualities.

Strain it.

Add a squeeze of lemon, a few cucumber slices, or some fresh mint if you'd like.

I usually drink it at room temperature or just slightly cool. It feels a little kinder to my digestion than a glass full of ice.

Keep a pitcher in the fridge if that's your thing, or leave it on the counter until it's just right.

Either way, it's one of my favorite ways to get through a hot summer day.
