There’s a long history between Japanese tattooing and the Yakuza
From Koi 🎏 and Dragons 🐉 to Warriors, these elements weren’t just about how the tattoo looked — they could represent strength, courage, identity and character. And from what I’ve learned over the years, enduring long tattoo sessions without complaining was also part of that culture: you had to take it as it came and push through.
That discipline is one of the things I’ve always found fascinating about the history behind Japanese tattooing 🇯🇵
