PART ONE! Let’s journey together into the wisdom within!
Wisdom for the Whole Person: Self-Awareness
What?! We don’t have to judge ourselves in order to change? Therapeutic self-awareness is more than critically analyzing ourselves. It is learning to slow down, become curious, and connect with our truest, Spirit-led self.
It invites us to gently examine our thoughts, motives, emotions, and actions—and to notice how they influence the way we relate to God, ourselves, and others.
Self-compassion is an important part of this process. Jesus tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Receiving God’s love personally—and learning to see ourselves through His eyes—is not selfish. It helps free us from shame, harsh self-judgment, and survival patterns that keep us from fully enjoying the life God has given us.
Transformation begins as we receive His love, agree with His truth, and allow that truth to renew our minds.
A gentle practice for today:
Place your hand over your heart and pause.
Notice your heartbeat.
Notice your breathing.
Allow your body to become still.
Then pray:
“God, you alone are worthy of my praise! I pause in this moment and ask for your forgiveness for… Thank you for loving me where I am and yet inviting me to encounter your whole truth. Please help me experience Your love in this moment. Show me what You want me to know about myself and about You.”
As you become quiet, is there a word, Scripture, or encouraging phrase you feel invited to carry with you today?
Perhaps it is:
I am loved.
I am not alone.
God is with me.
I can rest.
I am His beloved.
Let that truth settle gently into your mind, heart, body, and spirit. You can also choose to write it down, read it throughout the day and notice where this word of encouragement resonates within your body ❤️
