🔎When a child’s behavior and mental health symptoms change suddenly, I believe it’s important to pause and look beyond a psychiatric diagnosis alone.

OCD, intrusive thoughts, rumination, and dramatic behavioral changes can sometimes occur alongside infections or neuroinflammation.

🌳In my practice, I commonly see strep, coxsackie, and tick-borne infections in children experiencing these kinds of symptoms.

A sudden change in your child deserves to be investigated, not dismissed.

Sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones told by the children and families who have lived them. 💚

This precious patient recently shared what life was like before seeing me for PANS and how, with a comprehensive treatment plan, she was able to get back to school, join drama club and swim team, and even earn straight A’s!

Every child’s story is different, but their experiences deserve to be heard, understood, and taken seriously.

🔎When your child’s symptoms don’t fit neatly into one diagnosis, it may be time to look at the bigger picture.

Bartonella can be challenging to recognize because symptoms may involve multiple systems and can change over time.

That doesn’t mean Bartonella is the answer to every unexplained symptom. It means it can be important to know what to look for, ask better questions, and consider the full clinical history.

If your child’s health story doesn’t quite add up, keep asking questions.

🔎By investigating underlying drivers of immune and neurological dysfunction, we can begin to uncover what may be keeping the body from healing.

Don’t stop at the label. Ask deeper questions.

I believe mold is underdiagnosed in pediatric medicine, particularly when we consider its potential impact beyond the respiratory system.

🧠When a child is experiencing symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbances, digestive concerns, anxiety, or emotional dysregulation, we have to look at the bigger picture, including environmental exposures.

The immune system and neurological system are deeply connected, and understanding that connection can be an important part of understanding the whole child.
