“I’m on GLP-1… so why do I still want sugar?”
Because:
• Your body still needs energy.
• Your brain still wants dopamine.
• And your habits don’t disappear overnight.

Sugar cravings on GLP-1 may come from:
• Not eating enough protein
• Long gaps between meals
• Stress and poor sleep
• Using sugar as emotional regulation

Drinking water. Taking your meds as prescribed. Getting outside for 5 minutes. Tiny acts of care still count. 🌱

Thinning Hair? Don’t despair
Noticing more hair shedding? It’s usually temporary and not directly caused by GLP-1 medicine.
Most often, it’s linked to:
• Rapid weight loss (which can trigger a condition called Telogen effluvium, which also crops up a few months after giving birth)
• Low calorie or low protein intake
• Micronutrient gaps (iron, zinc, biotin, B12)
Ways to help:
✔Prioritize protein (aim for about 1.5 g/kg/day)
✔Optimize micronutrients including iron, zinc, B vitamins, and omega-3s from food or supplements
✔Avoid extreme calorie restriction – slower weight loss is best!
✔Be patient — hair typically regrows within months as nutrition and metabolism stabilize

Stop counting calories 🛑 Start tracking this instead.

Protein Bars — A Must-Have or Just Convenient?🤔
When appetite is low on GLP-1s, protein bars can be a helpful tool — but they’re definitely not mandatory.
What to know:
•They do provide convenience: Quick, portable, easy to eat when full meals feel overwhelming
• They offer easy protein support: Most bars provide 15–20 g protein, helping you preserve muscle during weight loss

But – do remember to check ingredients, and choose bars with minimal added sugar, less artificial sweeteners (many do not tolerate these) and some fiber.

While a helpful tool, bars are not a replacement for whole food, which should still make up the majority of your protein.
