Let's talk about one of our favorite tools in the clinic: blood flow restriction (BFR) training
BFR sounds a little scary, but we promise it's not. Here's the basic idea: a specialized cuff gets placed on your arm or leg during exercise to partially limit blood flow to that muscle. That low-oxygen environment tells your body to kick into muscle-building mode... even with super light weights.
So why does that matter? Because not everyone can (or should) lift heavy during recovery. BFR lets us get real strength gains without putting extra stress on healing tissue.
Not to mention the benefits that can be gained during strength training outside of injury recovery.
Research-backed, safe when done right, and honestly kind of fascinating once you get into it.
Got questions about whether BFR could help you?
