We were taught that doing is.

So we learned to manage our emotions rather than move through them. To perform composure rather than inhabit it. To achieve and achieve and achieve β€” until the body finally said: enough.

Here's what I know after 15+ years of working with brilliant, driven women:

Constant stress becomes normal.
Emotional suppression becomes normal.

But functioning is not always the same thing as healing.
