The Black Men in Behavior Analysis (BMBA) Network is committed to building community, increasing representation, and creating opportunities for mentorship and professional growth within the field of behavior analysis.

The BMBA Summit brings together professionals, students, and leaders from across the field to connect, share experiences, learn from one another, and engage in meaningful conversations that help move behavior analysis forward.

Attendees have the opportunity to gain new perspectives, expand their knowledge, build their professional networks, and connect with others who are passionate about making a difference in the field.

We’re especially excited to see our Clinical Director, Ryan Jones, serving as a panelist this year! 👏 We’re so proud to have Ryan representing Lamplight and sharing his experience and perspective with fellow behavior analysts.

We are currently accepting new learners for ABA therapy Monday–Friday from 8:30 AM–1:30 PM.

Our ABA therapy services are individualized to each learner’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. We use evidence-based strategies to help learners build meaningful skills, including communication, social interaction, independence, and daily living skills, while providing a supportive environment where they can grow and thrive.

For some children receiving ABA therapy, playing alongside peers can represent meaningful progress. Joining an activity, sharing space, interacting with others, or simply enjoying play together are all moments worth celebrating.

We love getting to be part of these special moments and watching learners grow in ways that are meaningful to them!

Peer play is an important part of ABA therapy because it creates natural opportunities to practice communication, turn-taking, sharing, cooperation, flexibility, and social interaction.

Reminder: Back to school doesn't look the same for everyone.

When people think of back-to-school season, they often picture school buses, classrooms, and first-day photos. But for many children receiving ABA therapy, this season may also include building the foundational skills that help make school more successful.

ABA therapy can help children practice skills like following classroom routines, communicating with teachers and peers, transitioning between activities, increasing independence, and developing social skills. These are all important parts of school readiness, even if they don't happen inside a traditional classroom.

Every learner's path is unique, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated. Whether your child is heading into a classroom, continuing therapy, or doing a little of both, remember that progress is progress-- and every step forward matters. 💙

Going back to school is a big transition, and transitions can bring big feelings.

For many children, especially those receiving ABA services, changes in routines, teachers, classmates, and environments can feel exciting one moment and overwhelming the next. That's why it's so important to remember that excitement isn't the only "normal" emotion.

Supporting children begins with recognizing and validating their feelings. When we pair empathy with preparation-- through visual schedules, practicing routines, and offering reassurance-- we can help make the transition feel a little more predictable and a lot less stressful.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fun in the Sun event this past Saturday!

It was such a joy meeting new families, catching up with familiar faces from the clinic, and spending the day together as a community.

From cooling off with water activities to enjoying Kona Ice and finally revealing our brand-new playground, every moment made the day one to remember.
