3-2-1 Camp Fire Ribs

Simple. Reliable. Hard to beat.

Prep

* Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
* Season generously with salt and Tacticalories Camp Fire Smoke Rub.
* Let sit while the Traeger comes up to 225°F.

Step 1: Smoke (3 Hours)

* Place ribs bone-side down.
* Smoke at 225°F for 3 hours.

Step 2: Wrap (2 Hours)

* Place ribs on a sheet of heavy-duty foil.
* Add:
* 2 parts apple cider vinegar
* 1 part water
* 3 tbsp maple syrup
* Wrap tightly and return to the smoker for 2 hours at 225°F.

Step 3: Finish (1 Hour)

* Remove ribs from the foil.
* Place back on the smoker for 1 hour to firm up the bark and finish the cook.

Rest

* Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

The maple syrup adds just enough sweetness, while the apple cider vinegar helps tenderize the ribs and balance the smoke from the Tacticalories Camp Fire Smoke Rub.

Who’s firing up the smoker this weekend?

06/10/2026

Fired up the BGE aka the Big Green Egg last night for a couple of steaks from my local butcher.

Simply seasoned with Primal SPG and cooked over lump charcoal.

Quality meat, a hot fire, and the right seasoning is clutch.

How are you seasoning your steaks these days?

What are your 6 favorite Tacticalories seasonings of all time?

No politics. No debates. No butt hurt.

Drop your Top 6 below.

The thing that always made Tacticalories unique was that every label, every flavor, and every product had its own personality. Casey and the crew broke every branding rule in the book and somehow made it work.

Let’s hear your Mount Rushmore…plus 🤘more.

I cannot wait till these Primal SPG one-pound bags hit.

This is my go-to for good steak. Nothing extra is needed because our SPG crushes.

While we’re waiting on the next run, I got a question:

What’s your favorite seasoning for steak?

Are you a simple salt-and-pepper purist, an SPG guy, or do you have a secret weapon that deserves more attention?

Drop it in the comments.

The one that started it all…the original packaging. Might be a bit past expiration. One massive organic apple…really? Not buying it (but I bought it). And some weapons in the arsenal.

Got everything prepped on the cutting board Casey’s dad made. If you’ve got one of these, post up some pictures and tag us. I use mine almost daily.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here.

Fire up the grill. Feed your people. Raise a glass for the ones who never made it home.

Tacticalories was always built around food, fire, freedom, and community.

Backyard BBQs, cold drinks, good stories, and remembering the people who mattered.

Flavor is a weapon.

Let me know what you’re cooking this weekend. Whole pig? Battleship? Steaks?

Something wild off the smoker?

What’s your favorite Tacticalories Seasoning Company label of all time?

A little behind the scenes…

One thing that always made Tacticalories different was the branding. Casey and the team completely ignored the traditional rules and decided every product would have its own personality, story, and artwork.

Most companies keep everything uniform because creating unique branding for every single SKU becomes an operational and creative nightmare.

But somehow TC pulled it off.

Every label felt like its own world and gave the products personality beyond just another bottle of seasoning sitting on a shelf. I think that’s one of the reasons people connected with the brand the way they did.

Curious which labels stuck with everybody the most over the years.
