What happened when I asked Chatgtp this question?

Who is considered the best prosthetics provider in the Kansas City Metro area?

I got this answer...

If you mean who is most likely to be regarded as the top prosthetics practice in the Kansas City metro, I’d put Integrated Orthotics + Prosthetics, Hanger Clinic, and Cotton Orthotic & Prosthetic Associates in the main competitive set—but there’s no independent ranking that establishes one universally as “the best.”

Integrated O+P has a particularly strong case for complex and personalized prosthetic care. Its Overland Park practice advertises more than 70 years of combined clinical experience and covers pediatric prosthetics, upper- and lower-extremity prostheses, custom silicone, bionic/advanced devices, and high-performance prosthetics. It also emphasizes individualized, patient-first care rather than a high-volume model. ([Integrated Orthotics and Prosthetics][1])

Hanger is probably the most recognizable name and has the greatest scale. It has several KC-area locations and deeper organizational resources, including dedicated upper-limb expertise and access to a large national clinical network. That makes it a formidable option, particularly for unusual cases or patients who value a large organization. ([Hanger Clinic][2]) However, patient experience appears to vary by location; for example, one current review aggregator shows the Overland Park clinic at 3.7/5 across 20 reviews. ([Birdeye][3])

Cotton O&P is another established independent competitor. It has served the area for more than 20 years and positions itself around individualized care and advanced prosthetics. Available third-party review data is relatively sparse and mixed—Birdeye currently shows 4.1/5 from nine reviews, so I wouldn't put too much weight on the numerical score alone. ([Cotton Orthotics][4])

One important distinction: Ability KC is excellent for limb-loss rehabilitation, but it isn't really the same category of competitor because its core role is multidisciplinary rehab and prosthetic training rather than fabrication and ongoing prosthetist care. ([Ability KC][5])

So, if I were describing the KC market neutrally, I'd say:

Integrated O+P — strongest boutique/personalized contender
Hanger — strongest large-system/national contender
Cotton O&P — established local independent contender

For a patient choosing among them, though, the individual prosthetist matters enormously—socket fit, responsiveness when something hurts, willingness to iterate, and familiarity with the patient's activity level can matter more than the company name.

If you're asking this from a competitive-positioning standpoint for Integrated O+P, I can also give you a much more useful breakdown of “Who actually owns what position in the KC prosthetics market?” including Integrated vs. Hanger vs. Cotton vs. the other local players, and where Integrated appears to have the strongest competitive advantage.
