What’s in your grocery cart could impact your cancer risk. 🛒💙 Colorectal cancer is being diagnosed in younger adults more than ever and according to Dr. Zachary Wright, oncologist and hematologist at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola, diet may play a bigger role than many realize.

Highly processed foods, sugary drinks, and packaged snacks can contribute to inflammation, obesity, and increased risk of colon cancer but small changes can make a big difference.

Here’s where to start:
✔️ Choose whole foods over ultra-processed options
✔️ Swap sugary drinks for water💧
✔️ Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins🍎🥦🥩
✔️ Stay on top of recommended screenings (starting at age 45)🩺.

🩺 Talk to your doctor about when to start screening. And if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Wright and our care team are here to provide expert, compassionate care every step of the way: http://ascn.io/6185B6f7ch

A stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis doesn’t always mean the end of the road.❤️ When William was facing colon cancer that had spread to his liver, he was connected with Dr. Leo Villegas, a surgical oncologist specializing in advanced, complex cancer surgeries. Through a highly specialized liver resection, Dr. Villegas was able to remove the remaining cancer leading to a unique and remarkable outcome.

More than 10 years later, William continues to thrive with no evidence of cancer recurrence. 🤍

If you or a loved one are facing a complex cancer diagnosis, specialized care matters.

👉 Know the Signs of Stroke. Act FAST. Save a Life.

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any time, and every second matters. Knowing the warning signs could mean the difference between recovery and long-term disability.

Remember B.E.F.A.S.T.:
🧠 B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance
👀 E – Eyes: Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
😊 F – Face: Facial drooping or uneven smile
💪 A – Arms: Arm weakness or numbness
🗣️ S – Speech: Slurred speech or difficulty speaking
⏱️ T – Time: Time to call 911 immediately

Don’t wait. Don’t second guess. Acting quickly can save brain function, and save lives.

This Stroke Awareness Month, take a moment to learn the signs and share them with someone you love. Because when it comes to stroke, every second counts.
