Follow me for more tips to lose weight without restrictive dieting.
Most guys think they need to live in the gym to lose weight.
They don’t.
Here’s what most people don’t realize:
Your daily calorie burn is made up of more than just exercise.
A rough breakdown looks like this:
- **Resting metabolism:** the calories your body burns just keeping you alive
- **NEAT:** walking, chores, errands, movement, being on your feet
- **Digestion:** calories burned processing food
- **Exercise:** structured workouts
And for most people, structured exercise is actually the **smallest** piece of the pie.
That doesn’t mean workouts don’t matter.
They absolutely do.
Strength training helps you:
- Build or maintain muscle
- Improve strength
- Support metabolism
- Feel more capable
- Age better
But if your main goal is fat loss, you don’t need to wait until you can train 5 days per week to start making progress.
You can lose weight without working out at all if your food system creates a consistent calorie deficit.
That’s the part most guys miss.
A few simple changes can make a huge difference:
- Stop skipping breakfast and overeating later
- Build meals around protein
- Add fiber so you stay full
- Reduce random snacking
- Tighten up portions without tracking every bite
- Walk more during the day
That’s not flashy.
But it works.
Inside Fit20, I still want guys to train because muscle matters, especially in your 40s and 50s.
But we don’t pretend the gym is the whole solution.
We build the food system first, then layer in workouts that fit real life.
You don’t need to live in the gym.
You need a plan you can repeat.
If you’re a guy 40+ with 20+ lbs to lose and you want help building that system, DM me **FIT20** and I’ll send you details about the Fall Cohort.
