If your hearing aids aren’t working the way you expected… there’s a good chance the problem isn’t the hearing aids.

In this episode (link in the comments) of The Dr. Cliff Show, we break down exactly how we fit and refit hearing aids using our Applied360 Fit and Refit processes to help patients achieve the best possible hearing outcomes.

We also explain why two people with the exact same hearing loss may need completely different hearing aid programming… and why simply buying “good hearing aids” is not enough.

If you’ve been frustrated with your hearing aids, struggling in background noise, or wondering why speech still isn’t clear, this episode will help you understand what proper hearing treatment should actually look like.

At Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix, Arizona, we believe successful hearing treatment is a process — not a quick programming appointment.

"My hearing aids sound muffled"

Are the manufacturer settings on your hearing aids undermining your speech clarity?

For many individuals with hearing loss, a lack of amplification in the high-frequency range is to blame for lack of speech clarity when wearing hearing aids.

🚨 NIGHTMARE HEARING LOSS STORIES 🚨

You won't believe some of the cases we've seen walk through the doors of Applied Hearing Solutions.

In this special webinar, I'll be sharing real patient stories involving:
🔹 Undiagnosed tumors that were missed for years
🔹 Horrific ear injuries caused by cotton swabs
🔹 Hearing aids that were completely inappropriate for the patient's hearing loss
🔹 Hearing aids programmed so poorly that patients gave up on treatment altogether
🔹 And other hearing healthcare mistakes that had serious consequences

I'll also explain what should have happened, how these situations were corrected, and what you can do to avoid becoming the next hearing healthcare horror story.

Hearing Loss and Your Memory

Are you concerned about your memory as you get older?

One of the most important things you can do to minimize your risk of cognitive decline as you age is to be proactive about treating hearing loss.

Why?

Untreated hearing loss causes increased cognitive effort, changes in brain structure, and is also associated with social isolation and depression - both of which are dementia risk factors.

This all sounds scary...but the good news is that by simply treating your hearing loss with well-fitted hearing aids, current evidence suggests you can significantly reduce your risk of developing dementia as you age.

This is AMAZING for hearing aid users.

Auracast broadcast audio will allow you to stream sound from your devices as well as public venues, and as it becomes more common, more and more hearing aid manufacturers are building it into their hearing technology.

Have you tried Auracast yet?

Finding a hearing care professional who performs Real Ear Measurement can be incredibly difficult…but it doesn’t have to be.

In this video, I explain why Real Ear Measurement is one of the most important audiologic best practices for hearing aid success — and why so few providers actually perform it regularly.

I also share how years of feedback from patients and hearing care professionals eventually led me to create the HearingUp Provider Network: a vetted group of hearing care professionals who are committed to following comprehensive audiologic best practices, including Real Ear Measurement, speech-in-noise testing, validation measures, and more.

Now, I want to be very clear…HearingUp is NOT the only way to find a great hearing care professional. There are many amazing providers out there who are not members of the HearingUp Network.

However, if you’re looking for an easier way to identify providers who are committed to best practices without having to spend hours calling around to different clinics, HearingUp can be a very helpful resource.

In this video (link in the comments), I cover:

✅ Why Real Ear Measurement matters
✅ Why so few clinics perform it regularly
✅ The challenges of finding providers who follow best practices
✅ Why I created HearingUp
✅ What HearingUp providers are vetted for
✅ Why Real Ear Measurement alone is not enough for optimal hearing care
