People who know me have heard me share the story of a wonderful boss of mine who once shared the following feedback after observing me lead a meeting. " You had this look on your face like your shoes were too tight." Huh? Not only did I not know what she meant, but I also was clueless about the look on my face. She went on to explain to me about the importance of leaders having a "game face." a lesson I try to remember to this day. That's one example of the importance of body language and non-verbals in communications. Happy to weigh in on the topic with colleagues from Forbes Coaches Council

Whether you are a coach, being coached, have been coached or are considering being coached, I think you'll agree that ADAPTABILITY is a key capability for coaches today more than ever. That applies equally to coaches themselves as well as their ability to help those they are coaching develop or strengthen that capability.

More than mere buzzwords, certain words and phrases offer insight into the client priorities and industry shifts defining coaching in 2026.
