When a provider dismisses your symptoms, it doesn't just feel bad in the exam room. .
It can impact how you advocate for yourself in the future and even the care decisions you make for yourself.
That might look like starting to minimize your symptoms or trying to rehearse what you're going to say before appointments.
You worry about being “too much” so you leave things out.
And this creates a barrier to getting the care you need.
The opposite is also true. When you feel genuinely heard, you share more. You follow through. You stay engaged with your own health in a way that improves your outcomes.
That's what I want for you.
