Today I picked up my 19-year chip, and I’m sitting with something bigger than the number itself…What’s bigger is the way healing doesn’t just travel in one direction.

We talk a lot about breaking generational patterns like it’s a relay, something we hand off to the ones who come after us. And it is that. But it’s not only that.

When we do the work, when we turn inward and get honest about what’s ours to heal, what’s ours to control, what we will no longer accept, where our boundaries need to hold, something shifts that isn’t only forward-facing. It moves backward too. Up the line. To the parents who raised us the best they knew how. To the grandparents and caregivers whose patterns were handed to them before they ever had a name for what they were carrying.

The people around us start to adjust. Some rise to meet the new version of us. Some fall away because they can’t or won’t. Either way, the healing holds. It doesn’t need their permission.

I watch this happen constantly. Today alone, three women in my meeting shared how the healing in their own recovery is rippling through their families in ways they never expected, reaching backward as much as forward.

19 years of choosing to look inward instead of pointing outward. Of taking radical accountability for my own actions while holding boundaries around what’s not mine to carry. It rewrites more than my own story.

Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it.

We’re approaching the autumn equinox 🍂

The one day day and night stand in perfect balance, before the light starts to recede.

In the Celtic Wheel, this is Mabon. A harvest festival. A threshold.

A time to give thanks for what this year has grown in us.

Nature doesn’t resist the dark half of the year — it prepares for it. Leaves let go. Roots pull inward.

We’re wired the same way. This is the season we turn too. Less reaching out. More listening in.

Winter isn’t empty, it’s where the seeking happens. What is this equinox asking you to release? What is it asking you to finally hear?

Join us and let explore this together, as women, as wisdom seekers, as sisters.

Envy vs. jealousy. There’s a difference, and I sat with it this week.

I didn’t get chosen to speak at this TEDx event. And yeah, I was bummed. So I asked myself the real question: do I even want to go watch it happen without me on that stage?

The answer was yes. I really do.

But I also had to get honest about the feels underneath that because there were some. So I asked myself: is this jealousy? And when I really looked at it, I realized… no. It’s envy. And those are not the same thing.

Envy is the healthy version. It’s “I wish I could be there doing that thing.” It’s a signal, not a threat. And I’ve learned that when I align myself with people who already have what I want, they don’t push me further away from it, they lift me toward it.

So today I’m going with an open heart and an open mind, sending love to every speaker on that TEDx Raleigh stage. 💛

Their light doesn’t dim mine. It shows me where mine is headed.

We say we want things to change but when change actually shows up, we flinch.

Change usually asks us to give something up, a habit, an identity, a story we’ve told ourselves for years. And that feels like loss, even when it’s really just space opening up for something better.

So instead, we wait.

We want the people around us to change. We want our circumstances to change. We want everything outside of us to shift while we stay exactly the same.

The loops were stuck in…We built them. The cycles, the patterns, the way this keeps happening. We’re not just living inside them, we’re the ones keeping them running.

If you want something in your life to change, it starts with you changing first.

Not everyone else. Not everything else.

You.

33 years of marriage & 33 years of growth opportunities.

The key to a lasting relationship isn’t perfection, it’s learning to find the happy medium. The compromise that doesn’t cost you your core values or your integrity.

It’s learning to work through things and honor each other, while still honoring yourself.

No relationship is perfect, because merging two lives together is hard work. It asks something of you, every single year.

But the beauty, the real depth, comes from learning how to navigate that together, while both people still get to live in their own sovereignty.

Two whole people. One shared life. Still growing.

Supportive energy vs. superior energy.

Nobody likes to be told what to do. Not because the idea is wrong, often it’s a good one, born from love and the genuine wish to help someone we care about. But it’s rarely what we say. It’s how we say it.

In our household, we’ve started paying closer attention to tone, noticing when we’re delivering an idea in a way that quietly implies “I need to be right,” even when that’s not our intention.

When someone feels told, resistance shows up automatically. It’s not stubbornness, it’s a natural response to feeling pushed instead of met. And if they eventually come around and try the thing anyway? An “I told you so” doesn’t land as support. It lands as belittling. Even when it was never meant that way.

The idea can be right and the delivery can come at a cost.

So we’re practicing something simple: show up in supportive energy, not superior energy. Offer the idea and let go of needing to be right about it. Trust the other person to find their own way there, in their own time.

This will deepen and complement a supportive relationship 💞
