Shasta Bike Month and Challenge May is Bike Month! Join the challenge to experience the joys of riding a bike and win great prizes! The challenge is free, and all level of riders are welcomed!

“May is National Bike Month.” National Bike Month is promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling and encourage more folks to give bicycling a try. Locally, The Shasta Bike Month is a collaborative effort of a variety of organizations, clubs, and volun

teers who want to celebrate bicycling and encourage more people to bicycle more often throughout Shasta County. One way we do this is by hosting the Shasta Bike Challenge which runs from May 1-31 each year. Participants can register as an individual and/or join their workplace team or other group for the local challenge through the Love to Ride platform. During the month of May, all participants are entered into a free drawing for great prizes each time they ride their bicycle and log their rides to work, on errands, for exercise, or wherever they want to go. Visit shastabikechallenge.org for more details.
