Friendship Foundation We started out with 8 children with special needs and 22 teen volunteers, meeting once per month on a Sunday afternoon in Manhattan Beach.

The Friendship Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides socially integrated programs to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to build friendship, independence, and live purposeful lives as active members of their community. At each "Sunday Circle," our group would gather to hang out and socialize while playing games, singing songs and enjoying a variety of interactive e

ntertainments. Soon thereafter, a few of our teens took this concept to their high schools and established school-sanctioned clubs at Mira Costa High School, Palos Verdes High School, and Redondo Union High School. Today, we offer programs 6 days per week, year-round. We provide services for hundreds of children and young adults with special needs and approximately 1,000 student volunteers. Friendship Foundation Clubs are established throughout the South Bay at elementary, middle, and high school levels in public, private, and charter schools with membership constantly growing.

No previous experience required— All are welcome and encouraged to apply!

We had so much fun learning about our ocean friends with Roundhouse Aquarium! 🐡🦈

Our friends at the Roundhouse Aquarium brought out all the stops with touch tanks of live marine animals, hands-on learning, and teaching us about marine science & conservation. 🪸🐠
Roundhouse also visits some of our Friendship School Clubs during the school year 😉
