I just got back from an amazing trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City, and it left me thinking about how often we believe what we see on our screens about people and places instead of experiencing them for ourselves.

Before our trip, I heard over and over that these cities were unsafe, the people weren’t friendly, and that we should be careful.

I’m happy to report that my experience was very different from what I saw online. I found beautiful, vibrant cities full of rich history, met wonderful people, and experienced so many moments of kindness and connection. ❤️

Sometimes, the things we are most certain about simply aren’t true.

So this week, I challenge you to put your phone down, step away from the noise, and go experience the real world for yourself.

Talk to people. Explore. Ask questions. Be curious. You may just be surprised by what you discover.
