🌟 Wednesday Wins at ABS! 🌟
One of the best parts of what we do at ABS is celebrating the incredible progress our students and clients make every day. There are so many wonderful wins each week that it's hard to choose just a few to highlight!
This week, we're celebrating the amazing gains our students and clients are making in using safe, appropriate replacement behaviors to communicate their needs instead of engaging in unsafe behaviors. We've seen some truly inspiring progress across all three of our buildings.
💙 At our North Campus, one student has been doing an incredible job recognizing when he is becoming upset and may engage in self-injury. He has independently begun using his communication skills to request his helmet, calmly count with staff, and stop himself from hitting. What an amazing example of self-awareness and self-regulation!
💙 At our West Campus, a student demonstrated excellent coping and problem-solving skills when his laptop died in the van on the way to school. Instead of becoming unsafe, he used his calming strategies, stayed safe, and appropriately communicated what he needed.
💙 At our Early Intervention Clinic, even our youngest clients have been working hard on these important skills. We've seen children use phrases like, "Can we do it later?" when they don't want to complete a task, and one client even stopped to help another child who had fallen by helping them up and asking "Are you ok?".
We are so proud of every student and client for the hard work they put in each day, and we're grateful for the dedicated staff and families who support them along the way. Way to go, ABS students and clients! Keep up the amazing work!
