It's all about appreciating the little things! My jeans were a little snug this morning and as I went to acupuncture I noticed my b***y is filling out again!

No offense at all to old ladies but there is an age where some of us get a droopy, deflated behind and I wasn't ready for that at 49.

This is also a sign that I'm healing!! Putting weight back on was a big priority for me and my cancer coach. He said it's hard for the body to heal when it's not getting nutrition and doesn't have the resources to pull from.

Gonna go dance some more,
Sierra

I love all of this ❤️ We could all use a little refresh of energy, right?

Unfortunately doing the opposite of how you feel is how to get unstuck. causes extreme fatigue so I make sure to book appointments that get me moving (today was osteopathy!) and then find a park!

If you've been following me since the cancer center you know my love of parks and nature and walking ❤️ Another unfortunate side effect of xeloda is blisters on my feet so instead of wearing shoes and socks (mostly polyester out there - be picky!) I wear natural cork Birkenstocks and/or walk barefoot on the earth.

And if you feel yucky and like you don't want to exercise, that's actually the best time to do it. Even just a little walk, a 5 pound weight, some couch curls... move that beautiful body or it will stop working for you. Use it or lose it!

Also fun update - my butt is coming back!!

I missed my 🍑,

Although I'm grateful to have hair, I'm also grateful for "clean" hair dyes like that can make me feel like ME again!

I can't remember most of my childhood. This includes being born through high school. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe I had some trauma? Maybe I just have a bad memory? Either way it's sad that I don't remember certain things but also nice that I have forgotten the bad things. Or at least don't hold onto them.

My kids are in middle school now (the worst) and I'm watching them go through friend drama, puberty, the ups and downs of new schools and new schedules and new teachers. It's hard. Maybe it's designed to be hard to set you up for the rest of life?

And then I look at my close family and friends who are handling what I'm going through the best they can. I have guilt over making them worry about me. I definitely try to hide a lot of of the bad stuff and bad days because I don't want to be a burden.

I saw this quote the other day about life being 10% what happens to you and 90% how you handle it and it really stuck with me. I think overall and handling this Cancer situation really well and I'm proud of myself for that. It's not easy on anyone, but I hope you can take time to find the positives today? I hope you can find some goodness for your soul and I hope you know that you're loved and important.

Enjoy your own Happylajd today,
Sierra

Some of you have asked for my xeloda schedule and here goes... I take around 9:15 am and pm as it's known to cause fatigue. Some days I take a nap around 12:30/1 other days my tea and beet root give me enough energy to power through. Make to take AFTER A MEAL WITH PROTEIN even if it's just beans or nuts (which I eat way more than meat).

I also take a LOT of supplements and I'm compiling the list right now. Some of these are specific to my issues (pleural effusion, bone pain) but are all based on personalized testing and research, coming from@my naturopath and 2 different cancer coaches. I will share when it's ready!

Mornings are hectic when you have kids, getting the ready and out the door to school on time can be stressful and not leave you enough time for your own things. I have learned to get up at 7 or 7:30 so I have at least 30 minutes to myself to feel settled and somewhat organized before waking them up.

Also with make sure you avoid folic acid. It reacts horribly with the medication and causes hand and foot sores, blisters, and pain. Folic acid is a synthetic form of B9 and can be found in enriched flour, which is in products like crackers, bread, pasta, cookies, etc. AVOID!!! Even if you're not on Xeloda, if you have MTHFR you should avoid it too as it can mess up your whole system (read Dirty Genes).

Any other questions? Ask below! Or share insight! I know I'm a research nerd and love reading studies but maybe you've learned something I haven't and information is king with healing from anything.

Back to my supplement list,
Sierra

Forgive the hair, still don't know what to do with it and was wearing a hat all morning. Also forgive the dog and his favorite squeaky ball 😂

I'm grateful for Stanford doctors listening to me and my concerns! (And a special FU to ) PLEASE if you have concerns or fears or mixed feelings or hesitation about ANYTHING the doctors are proposing for your treatment, PLEASE don't be afraid to speak up. YOU know your body better than any doctor and that special voice inside of you is there for a reason!! I had so many hesitations on the 30 rounds of radiation at UCSF but felt pressured and intimidated into the treatment. I should have listened to my gut but shoulda coulda woulda...

The other piece of the radiation frustration was that the radiation oncologist at UCSF Dr Prionas refused to write me a referral for HBOT even though the machines were at another hospital and I sent him lots of data on how HBOT helps your body heal after radiation. He claimed I "didn't need it" and that I "did really well with the treatment." I did well because I completely changed my diet and lifestyle around the radiation based on days and days of research.

Will update after the next pet scan! But so far I'm doing well on Xeloda plus my supplements and off labels 🙏 Yes I do have spinal pain every day and my left hip is creaking and popping a little but overall life is very good 👍

Feel free to message with questions or add your own experiences! We're all in this together.

Happy myhealthchart Monday,
Sierra

JOY came to my front door today! I saw these deer out the window as I was handwashing dishes (thanks broken dishwasher pump) and literally jumped for joy then grabbed my phone.

How amazing to see these gorgeous creatures and then have my puppy be so curious and brave?! It was such a magical moment ❤️

And now for a nap ,

There's quite a few people in our cancerverse that could use some extra prayers today. I'm sending lots of healing energy out there 🙏 I'm also reminding myself that we're all on individual journeys with different DNA, emotions, cancers, etc and can't compare directly. This club sucks. Sending love 💗
