The tradition, named for Swami Kripalu, was brought to the United States by Kripalu’s disciple in the 1960′s. Kripalu yoga is considered “the yoga of life” because the practice integrates the many types of yoga: bhakti, karma, jhana and hatha. Yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), ethics, philosophy, and meditation. Today the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA sustains the Kripalu lineage. Reiki is a gentle, noninvasive, hands on therapy that is deeply relaxing and assists with healing the whole person. Reiki, a Japanese word meaning universal life force energy, is a simple, natural, and safe method that treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit. Thai Yoga Therapy is an ancient healing art rooted in the practice of metta (loving kindness).
