Wait... my ear problems might be perimenopause? 🤯

I swear, every week I learn about another weird symptom no one warned us about.

One of the most frustrating parts of perimenopause is that it can show up in places you’d never expect. You don’t always connect the dots because the symptoms seem so random.

But our bodies are connected. Hormones affect tissues, recovery, stress levels, and how our bodies feel and move every day.

This is also why I’m such a broken record about movement, recovery, and managing stress. They’re not just “nice to haves.” They’re tools that help us navigate all the strange twists and turns that come with this season of life.

So now I have to ask... what’s your weird perimenopause symptom? 👇💙

Picture yourself at 75.

Maybe you’re walking the endless cobblestone streets of Rome, drinking in history as you search for that one restaurant your hotel told you about. Or maybe you’re snapping photos of floppy-eared cows in Germany, on your way to wander in the Alps.

Or maybe you’re meeting harbor seals and humpback whales from the seat of your kayak while you explore the waters around San Juan Island. (These are my dreams, I confess)

Here’s another question: Is your current strength training plan going to get you there in 35 years?

You’re closer than you think!!!

So many people quit because they think progress should look like a straight line. It doesn’t.

Real progress looks like lower intensity or shorter workouts during busy weeks, eating treats but stopping after the first couple, and showing up even when you missed the first part of the week’s workouts.

The middle is messy. That’s normal.

In fact, most of the strength, confidence, and resilience you’re looking for gets built right there. Not when everything is perfect. Not when motivation is high. Right in the middle of your super messy life.

If you’re somewhere between where you started and where you want to be, keep going. You’re not behind.

You’re exactly where growth happens. 💙

Raise your hand if you’ve ever told yourself:

“I’ll start when life calms down.” 🙋‍♀️ (I know I have)

Meanwhile, life looked at your plans and said, “That’s cute.”

Here’s the thing: the women who stay consistent aren’t the ones with perfect schedules, endless motivation, or flawless habits.

They’re the ones who keep showing up after the busy week, the missed workout, the vacation, the sick kid, the stressful work project, and the “I don’t feel like it” day.

Progress is built on the messiest of days.

So if today isn’t perfect?

Good news.

It still counts. 💙

Tell me: what’s one thing you’re doing this week, even if it’s not perfect?

✨ Main Character Energy Found Here ✨

Not because you hit a PR.
Not because you never miss a workout.
Not because you've got it all figured out.

Main character energy is walking through the door anyway.

It's choosing yourself even when you didn't show up on Monday.
Or doing the workout especially when you don't feel like it.
It's remembering that your story is still being written.

Remember, we don't chase perfection. We choose to show up with all our beautiful mess on display.💙

What's giving you main character energy this week?

When we say we help women get strong, we mean STRONG.

Ok, so I mixed up extension and flexion, and there isn’t a move called “Actual Rotation”. In my defense, this was my 20th take, and I was a little distracted by the burining in my forearm muscles.

Most women over 40 don't think about grip strength but doctors do.

Weaker grip correlates to:
*Less independence (because you can't open or carry your own things)
*More serious falls (because you can't catch yourself)
*Overall lower bone density (because you can't hold weights)

The research is eye opening and the good news is it is never too late to do something about it.

We're talking grip-strength all week, so follow and stay tuned for ideas of how to start.💪
