Applications to become part of the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2030 rose to an all-time high, with resident applicants up 16% and non-resident applicants up 59%.

That’s a wrap on our 2026 4-H Vet Science Short Course 🩺

We had an incredible day with 4-H members who are passionate about animal health and veterinary medicine. Participants got hands-on experience learning suturing techniques, practicing equine bandaging, working through calving scenarios on our simulator, and exploring animal anatomy.

Thank you to all of the students, volunteers, and faculty who made this year's short course a success. We loved sharing our passion for veterinary medicine and helping inspire the next generation of .

Congratulations to Dr. David Wallace on being named a 2026 recipient of an Outstanding JAVMA Resident Manuscript Award for his manuscript, “Concurrent intravenous regional limb perfusion and systemic amikacin administration achieves variable synovial fluid amikacin concentrations in healthy neonatal foals.”

As part of this recognition, Dr. Wallace will receive a cash prize and a Certificate of Achievement at the AVMA Convention.

The OSU College of Veterinary Medicine ambulatory service has been assisting Stillwater and surrounding communities for decades.

Drs. John Gilliam, clinical professor in food animal production medicine and field services; Myriam Jimenez, assistant professor in food animal production medicine and field services; Jason Anton, clinical assistant professor in production medicine, field services and extension; Lionel Dawson, professor in theriogenology with and emphasis in production animal theriogenology; and Chase Whitfield, clinical associate professor in equine medicine and field services, are at the forefront of the ambulatory service.

The ambulatory service delivers comprehensive veterinary care to equine and food animal patients, bringing clinical expertise directly to farms and ranches. The team provides services such as herd health programs, including calf processing, pregnancy diagnosis, and disease outbreak prevention and investigation.
