The very best part of my job is getting to share stories of what you made happen.

September is NICU Awareness Month, and this one gets personal for me.

Hi, I'm Rachel.

Years before healthcare philanthropy became the work I love, I was a mom sitting beside my daughter in the NICU.

I learned quickly that in the NICU, ordinary moments stop feeling ordinary. Holding your baby. Feeding her. Trusting someone else to care for her when you have to walk away. The smallest things become everything.

Now, I have the incredible privilege of sharing stories from the OnCue NICU at Stillwater Medical. Yep, the one you helped build.

It's where families can stay closer to home. Where parents can be beside their babies for more of those small, important moments. Where a higher level of care is ready before a family ever knows they will need it.

This month, you'll hear more about our OnCue NICU and the lives it has changed.

Fall gets busy around Stillwater.

Boone Pickens fills up with Oklahoma State fans. Soccer takes over Saturdays. There’s music at The Botanic Garden, dinner Downtown and plenty of places to be.

A hospital visit? We hope that’s nowhere on your agenda.

But when it is, 𝗪𝗘’𝗥𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘. Right in the 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 of it all.

Good news two days in a row? That's how our donors roll.

This time, donor dollars put a Sonosite LX point-of-care ultrasound system in the hands of Stillwater Medical's Emergency Department team.

But what does that really mean for patients? 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲.

This technology allows our Emergency Department team to see what’s happening inside the body in real time, helping evaluate things like internal bleeding, heart and lung function, and other critical conditions without having to move the patient away from the bedside.

In an emergency, information matters. And sometimes, seconds do too.

Yesterday, one of our social workers at Stillwater Medical asked us to pass along this message to our 156 WOW members:

“I had a mom and dad today who have worked very hard to prepare for their baby but were in need of a pack & play, diapers, and wipes. After telling them these items came from donors (WOW Baby Closet), they asked if I would reach out and thank the donors on their behalf. They were so relieved and grateful for the help! They did not expect us to be able to help them secure a pack & play for baby and were very anxious about scraping together to purchase one. Just wanted to share that they were so thankful and wanted to say a big thank you to Women of Wellness!”

That’s WOW. It’s being part of a community of women who change lives. Being a WOW member isn’t a résumé builder or another name on a membership list. It’s a decision to make an impact.

It’s 156 women choosing, together, to make sure families in our community have what they need when they need it most.
