Sometimes forgetfulness is normal.
One example is called the Doorway Effect.
This is when the brain treats a new room like a new event, and the thought from the last room can get left behind.
Forgetfulness can also be influenced by stress, poor sleep, attention challenges, multitasking, and mental overload.
That is why it helps to understand the difference between occasional forgetfulness and patterns people may want to pay closer attention to.
Forgetting why someone walked into a room does not always mean memory loss.
Sometimes the brain is simply shifting attention or carrying too much at once.
