Sore knees after a hard workout don’t automatically mean something is wrong—or that you need to stop moving.

After training left my knees a little more sore than usual, I did what I encourage my patients to do: assess the response, adjust the load, and keep moving.

Dry needling and compression can have a role in recovery, but they’re tools—not the entire plan.

The bigger goal is maintaining strength, movement, and capacity so your knees can continue handling the demands you place on them.

Recovery isn’t about avoiding load. It’s about staying ready for it.

Technology can be a powerful tool—but it’s not the treatment plan.

At ESCO, modalities like Class IV laser therapy and dry needling with electrical stimulation are used strategically to support recovery and reduce barriers to movement. But lasting results come from understanding why the knee is struggling, addressing the contributing factors, and progressively rebuilding strength and capacity.

The goal isn’t to keep you dependent on treatment.

It’s to get your knee ready for the demands of your life, training, and sport.

Technology helps. The right plan changes outcomes.

Knee pain isn’t always a rest problem.

Most people with knee pain get told the same two things: rest more, or get a generic treatment plan that doesn’t ask why the knee is struggling in the first place.

At ESCO, every case starts with a real assessment—mobility, strength, control, and load tolerance. Once we know what’s actually limiting you, we build a plan around it: targeted care + progressive rehab to rebuild capacity, not just mask symptoms.

The goal isn’t a few pain-free days. It’s getting you back to training, sport, and everyday life—stronger and more confident than before.

If you’re looking for a non-surgical path forward, this is where it starts.

Three gymnastics movements. One very competitive family. 🤸‍♀️

Some of us made it look effortless. The rest of us proved that confidence and ability are two very different things. 😂

Movement, competition, and time with the family—hard to beat that combination.

Who do you think won?

Dancing demands more than rhythm—it requires mobility, control, strength, and the capacity to perform repeatedly.

With Cristina LaNext, we assessed how her body moves, addressed the restrictions we found, and reinforced those changes with performance-focused rehabilitation.

Because quality care shouldn’t stop at feeling better. It should prepare you to perform better.

Move better. Perform longer.

Your knee pain may not be starting at the knee.

The tensor fasciae latae (TFL) influences hip control and tension through the iliotibial band. When it becomes overactive or guarded, it can contribute to altered lower-extremity mechanics and lateral hip or knee symptoms.

Dry needling is one tool I use to reduce muscular guarding—but lasting improvement comes from identifying why the TFL is compensating and correcting the underlying movement or strength deficit.

If hip or knee pain is limiting your training, schedule an evaluation at ESCO in Tega Cay.

Barbers spend hours with their arms elevated—and eventually, the shoulders feel it. ✂️

I brought my barber, ALL GLORY BE TO GOD † , into ESCO for an assessment, treatment, and three exercises to build better shoulder and upper-back capacity:

1️⃣ Rope face pull
2️⃣ Scapular row
3️⃣ Thoracic extension pullover

Your work places demands on your body. Train for those demands.

Save this for later and send it to your barber. Shoulder pain affecting your work or training? Book an evaluation at ESCO in Tega Cay.

Knee pain doesn’t need more random treatment. It needs a clear strategy.

Dry needling with e-stim and Class IV laser can be valuable tools—but only when they’re selected based on what the evaluation reveals.

In this case, the goal was to:

⚡ Address sensitivity and impaired quadriceps function
🎯 Deliver targeted neuromuscular stimulation
🔴 Support pain modulation and the tissue-recovery process
🏋🏽 Prepare the knee for progressive loading

The goal isn’t to stack as many modalities as possible. It’s to use the right tools, for the right patient, at the right time—and connect treatment back to movement and performance.

Knee pain limiting your training or keeping you from doing what you enjoy?

Dancers need more than flexibility—they need strength, control, and the capacity to handle repeated movement.

Here are three exercises to help build stronger knees for the dance floor:

1️⃣ Split squat — develops single-leg strength and knee-loading capacity
2️⃣ Lateral step-down with reach — improves control during lowering, rotation, and weight transfer
3️⃣ Bent-knee calf raise — builds calf and ankle capacity for repeated steps

The goal isn’t just stronger legs. It’s building strength that transfers into confident, controlled movement.

Save this for your next strength session and follow Cristina LaNext for the dance moves. 💃🏽

Exercise selection should be individualized based on your symptoms, abilities, and goals.
