She walked into an open day at the University of Johannesburg, heard about podiatry for the first time, and knew immediately it was her calling!

Meet Kels, one of our wonderful podiatrists, and someone whose warmth and dedication you'll feel as soon as you walk into her treatment room.

Kels has a special interest in wound care, general foot care and biomechanics, and what drives her every day is exactly what you'd hope for in a clinician: watching people progress, improve, and get back to living well.

Outside the clinic she's a bookworm, a baker, and will passionately talk to you into rewatching Game of Thrones! Her favourite foods? Dumplings and samp (a combo we fully support ๐ŸฅŸ)

We're so lucky to have you, Kels.

Swipe through to see Mia and the many faces of Carl! ๐Ÿ˜„ Who is always making sure work experience is both educational and entertaining.

This week we are excited to welcome Mia from Baimbridge College to Gen Health for work experience!

Mia has a keen interest in health, exercise and sport. Mia is particularly interested in sports injuries and improving your physical performance.

Outside of school, Mia is often playing football, netball and basketball, and has recently taken up boxing.

Mia is eager to experience the whole allied health team, gaining insight into how different disciplines work together to support patients throughout their health and injury journeys.

We are excited to have Mia with us this week ๐Ÿ˜Š

Mpho grew up watching people in her community struggle with foot and leg pain, and decided she was going to be the one to help. ๐Ÿซถ

Meet Mpho, one of our wonderful podiatrists at Gen Health, and one of the warmest humans you'll meet. Mpho has a special interest in ingrown toenails, wounds, and musculoskeletal conditions, and her favourite part of the job is helping patients get back to living pain free.

Outside the clinic she's a DIY queen, beach lover, mum to two beautiful daughters, and the kind of person who will tell you in detail what she cooked last night, if you ask.

Sneaker nerd credentials: New Balance 574 and ASICS Gel 1130. Respect. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ
Coffee order: butterscotch latte or mochachino, a woman of excellent taste.
Dream dinner guest: Beyoncรฉ. No notes. ๐Ÿ‘‘

We are so lucky to have you, Mpho.

This week we are excited to welcome Peyton from Warrnambool College to Gen Health for work experience! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Peyton has a keen interest in both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, particularly working with young people, and is eager to gain exposure to a range of allied health professions all under one roof.

Outside of school, Peyton enjoys playing cricket and teaching gymnastics.

Here she is with Sophie, one of our Occupational Therapists, learning more about the important role OTs play in supporting children and young people to thrive. ๐Ÿ˜Š

We are thrilled to have Peyton with us this week and look forward to being part of her career exploration journey!

Charlotte came in for a gap year and never left. ๐Ÿ’š
Meet Charlotte, our Podiatry Allied Health Assistant, current Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine student, and the person most likely to get genuinely excited about a corn. ๐Ÿฆถ ๐ŸŒฝ

Charlotte started at Gen Health in reception, fell in love with allied health, did a full 180 on her original career in PR, and enrolled in her Undergraduate Certificate in Foot Health at Charles Sturt University. Now she's part-way through her Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine and an important part of our Pod Squad.

Charlotte's journey shows what an Allied Health Assistant role can look like, hands-on, meaningful, and a genuine pathway into a clinical career. She works alongside our podiatrists to support patient care and it's a model we're really proud of.

Outside the clinic you'll find her at a live music gig, at the beach, surrounded by good food (anything Italian ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น ), and with very strong opinions about Home and Away. Ask her. She loves to talk about it. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Welcome to the spotlight, Char. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Something we don't talk about enough - what happens between appointments. ๐Ÿ’š

Every fortnight, the Gen Health Hamilton team sits down together - physios, podiatrists, exercise physiologists, OTs - not to see patients, but to learn, together.

From ultrasound-guided injections and running assessments to persistent pain management and mental health strategies, our PD sessions are built around what we're actually seeing in clinic, and what our community deserves when they walk through our doors.

We also run a monthly Journal Club, a New Graduate Mentoring Program, and support every team member with a dedicated PD allowance and paid leave to attend external courses and conferences.

We believe great care starts with clinicians (and people!) who never stop growing. If you've ever wondered why Gen Health feels different, this is part of it.

Professional Development at Gen Health is prioritised so our allied health team stays connected, collaborative and up to date.
