Today was the last day of my first 8 week postnatal yoga journey.
Each week became an opportunity to step out of the house, take a breath, move my body gently, and connect with other moms who just get it. There was never pressure for things to look perfect.
Postpartum can feel incredibly isolating at times, and having even one hour a week to feel supported, grounded, and cared for makes such a difference.
Over the past 8 weeks we focused on gentle movement, breathwork, mobility, core and pelvic floor reconnection, nervous system support, stretching out all of those tight feeding and carrying muscles, and creating moments of rest and softness in a season that can feel very overwhelming.
This postnatal yoga journey became a space where we could arrive exactly as we were tired, emotional, healing, strong, uncertain, joyful, overwhelmed, empowered…sometimes all within the same hour. Babies were fed, cuddled, rocked, changed, and soothed. We practiced through the beautiful unpredictability of motherhood together.
Some of the benefits of postnatal yoga can include:
✨ Supporting postpartum healing and recovery
✨ Reconnecting with the core and pelvic floor gently
✨ Reducing tension in the neck, shoulders, hips, and back
✨ Improving mobility and strength gradually
✨ Supporting nervous system regulation and emotional wellbeing
✨ Creating bonding opportunities with baby
✨ Building confidence in movement again
✨ Connecting with other moms and reducing feelings of isolation
✨ Having a welcoming space where babies are truly welcome exactly as they are
