Don’t rely on what an app says when you’re trying to figure out if you ovulated

Get familiar with the signs your body is giving you and learn how to properly track them and what they mean for your fertility with my free guide: Finding Your Fertile Window

Comment TTC and I’ll send it your way!

Do not ask for a "cycle day 21 progesterone test" instead, ask for a 7DPO (days post ovulation) progesterone test and here's why

Day 21 only makes sense if you ovulate on day 14 because 14+7 is 21. But what if you're ovulating earlier on day 12 or later on day 17 or 18? Then you’re not going to get an accurate progesterone level on cycle day 21!

You need to first track your body’s signs and symptoms of ovulation + you can track LH levels and basal body temperature and then aim for a blood test on day 7 after you ovulate for the most accurate measure of progesterone

Not sure if you're ovulating or how to track everything I just mentioned? Then my free Finding Your Fertile Window guide will help! Comment "window" and I’ll get it to you

And yes, if you ovulate on cycle day 14 then a 21 dpo progesterone test is perfect for you

Sometimes the simplest ways to support your body are being completely overlooked...

Like morning sunlight. Seriously

Getting natural sunlight into your eyes after you wake up (without sunglasses) for just 5-10 mins can help support your ovulation and hormones

How? It begins to regulate your natural circadian rhythm which supports cortisol's natural pattern as well as melatonin which both impact ovulation and progesterone

But when you're jumping straight to supplements and unhinged internet tips before actually supporting your body as a whole is how important parts of your fertility story get skipped over

Now, will doing this for a week change your cycle next month? No. Because there are no quick fixes.

It's about supporting a body that you are literally asking to grow an entire human being from

It's about nourishing and nurturing and caring for yourself rather than treating yourself like something that needs to be fixed

If this is the kind of support you want and you're not currently getting then come and have a look inside my Flourishing Fertility Community because we do things differently

Comment “flourish” and I’ll get you the details đŸ€°

SPOILER: If you want to ‘balance’ your hormones, it doesn’t start with your hormones

And it doesn’t start in a bottle of supplements

It starts with how you move through your life everyday from what you eat to how you exercise to what you drink to when you go to bed

Boring. I know. A magic pill would be so much more fun 🙃

But we’ve strayed so far away from

Real food
Water
Minerals
Movement
Sunlight
Sleep
Healthy đŸ’© (yes this matters for your hormones)

That we think the “fix” to take a certain supplement

And while there’s many supplements that can help support your hormones because they’re filling in gaps or correcting deficiencies or supporting your adrenal glands

Nothing will work long term if you don’t have these basics in place

That’s why wrote the Fertility Foundations guide so you can uncover what’s been impacting your hormones and follow the steps to shift them

If you want to have a closer look and grab your copy, you can do that here đŸ‘‡đŸ»

Discover the foundational shifts you can make to support your hormones, regulate your nervous system and support your chances of becoming pregnant.

If you work with pregnant or postpartum women in any capacity you’re doing them a MASSIVE disservice if you’re not educated on perinatal nutrition

Your clients are actively looking for answers to their nutrition questions and using chat bots to get their answers

Because they’re not getting them sitting in their OBs office đŸ«

What to eat to get rid of morning sickness
What to eat when you can’t eat because of morning sickness 🙃
What foods help increase milk supply
Can I eat ‘x,y,z’ while pregnant/breastfeeding

The list goes on

Misinformation, conflicting research, and the nuances of pregnancy and postpartum make nutrition feel really overwhelming

But what if you knew exactly how to approach the nuance?

Exactly what to guide your clients towards?

How would it feel having the practical training as a certified expert?

Pregnant and postpartum moms have worries, concern and complaints and it's no surprise that many women are dissatisfied with conventional pregnancy nutrition guidance

Because it usually goes “here’s a list of foods to avoid” and “take a prenatal”

And that’s the end of it 🙄

And then during postpartum and breastfeeding it’s basically the same — “don’t eat this because you’re breastfeeding” 🙃

The fact that her body just grew an entire human and needs to be replenished is left out of the conversation

How amazing would it feel to confidently guide them through nutrition in the most transformative time of their lives?

To help your clients get better outcomes, like less morning sickness or improved birth outcomes?!

That's where this professional program has you covered!

It equips you with practical knowledge to address real-life experiences and concerns and the next cohort starts this fall

And it's not just a bunch of information or a do-it-in-a-weekend-certification

You actually learn how to apply evidence based education to the REAL LIFE of your clients including getting access to tools and resources you can begin using right away

Not to mention assistance in creating an offer you can use to start growing your business in a whole new way

This program was an amazing investment in myself and my business. So much so, it actually helped me pivot how I support women

And the next cohort of this program begins this fall

If you serve pregnant or postpartum clients in any capacity, this program is worth its weight in gold

We’ve normalized feeling like đŸ’©

You don't need a supplement stack of 15+ products - you need the boring basics first because the boring stuff works

I've lived it and helped many clients through the same

Because you can't build on a rocky foundation

If you were building a house and the foundation was crumbling or had cracks, you won't have a stable base for your home

👉 Same for your body

If you're not doing the basics, you can try and supplement your way out of it all you want but your body will communicate the only way she knows how - symptoms

Hair thinning or falling out
Ovulation not happening or no cervical mucus
Spotting before periods
Anxiety and depression
Exhaustion
Brain fog
Brittle nails
Bloating
Constipation
Gas
Acne

These aren’t just things you’re supposed to live with

They’re signs from a body asking help

So if you’re ready to see where there might be gaps in your nutrition or lifestyle and how you can start to close them, I have a free assessment for you!

It will help move you in the right direction if everything online is feeling confusing right now

You’ll come out of it knowing where you need to focus like eating more fibre for example, or improving your hydration, eating more protein, supporting better sleep, reducing toxins
in your life etc

A quick note: it uses BMI as part of the assessment which I do not love so take that with a grain of salt because it's not always an accurate meaure of health - iykyk đŸ’ȘđŸ»

When you spend time building the foundation your body needs, you will watch things change

Here’s a hard truth when it comes to nutrition

You cannot out supplement your lifestyle

If you’re not going to bed until 11pm or later (because that’s the only alone time you get in a day) and then rushing out of your house in the mornings with coffee as breakfast

Because you know you’ll just grab a bagel from the break room once you’re at work

And then lunch time rolls around and you have a chicken salad followed by a 2pm coffee and sweet treat (or maybe you got lucky and found a protein bar at the bottom of your purse)

And then you get home to realize nothing has been prepped for dinner

So you order takeout while eating your toddlers leftover nuggets and strawberries

And then the night time munchies kick in and you’re searching the cupboards for cookies, ice cream or chocolate
but nothing quite satisfies the craving đŸȘđŸŠđŸ«

Meanwhile you’re feeling exhausted all the time, your hair is still falling out, your weight isn’t where you want it, you’re bloated, constipated and struggling to conceive your second baby

So you jump online and see what other people are doing or you buy a supplement from an influencer ad and hope it works 🙃

But you cannot supplement your way out of not *actually* caring for your body

But don’t get it wrong. I use supplements personally AND I use them with my clients but they’re there to fill in the gaps

(Plus they’re tested for quality so no one is taking anything crappy)

BUT IT’S FOOD FIRST đŸ đŸ„đŸłđŸ„©

You cannot just take handfuls of supplements everyday and think it’s going to fix your low energy, hair loss, weight gain, bloating, constipation and fertility struggles.

Your body needs nourishment from real food

Nutrition is one of the most easily modifiable and most over-looked factors of postpartum repletion including optimizing your fertility

You can’t out supplement poor nutrition
or poor sleep
or poor gut health
or unchecked stress levels

You just can’t

But you can start making small changes that are going to stack up over time and begin to shift your body into a state of feeling energized, rested, and regulated

“This is so cool” - me, after I got to deliver a personalized nutrition session this morning for a client who is trying to conceive her second baby
