And just like that….
Our final class comes to an end. My fourth year in the Advanced Clinical Herbalist Program comes to an end-I never thought I’d see this day. The first two years were an absolute blur, full of grief and loss. But this second round-I gave it my all, not without times of despair and thoughts of giving up. Through all the travel, busy schedule and a demanding job, I made it happen-from airports, in community, on vacation lol. You name it.
I’m so unbelievably fortune to have such a kind, caring teacher and class mates that help to lift me up when I couldn’t.
I am so thankful for my family, staff and colleagues for allowing me (forcing me) to make space for my learning and my studies so I can get to this point
Not only have I learned so much about plants, energetics, photochemistry, botany, TCM, clinical care……I have learned so much about myself in this process, and I have grown SO much as a herbalist.
I can honestly say I feel so incredibly proud of myself for getting to this point. Completing my advanced clinical program and feeling the confidence I need to really support people with plants.
While I am absolutely taking a well-earned break, I have some really big plans to shift back into medicine making and supporting folks in a really good way and I feel ready with the knowledge and confidence I have now.
I’m here to take up space in the Herb world as a Clinically Trained Indigenous Herbalist. Making my kokum & capan proud 💗🙌🏽
So thankful 🙏🏽 Colleen Emery, Cl.H, RHT (BCHA)
