📚 A new picture book for little readers and their educators!

I’m excited to share that I Will Stay With You is now officially published!

Woven throughout the story are different social-emotional capacities that develop during the early years — regulation, shared attention, interaction, problem-solving, discovering one’s identity, theory of mind, and more.

Through the adventures of a polar bear and a little puffin, I Will Stay With You invites children to explore feelings, friendship, differences, kindness, and what it means to support a friend.

Children can simply enjoy the story, its humour, and the beautiful watercolour illustrations by Nirvana Heinze Balcazar. Early Childhood Educators may also find inspiration for arts and crafts, music and movement, puppetry, science projects and more.

As an educator and DIRFloortime® Expert, I spend a lot of time thinking about children’s functional emotional development — how relationships and connection support one's capacity to regulate, engage, communicate, problem-solve and navigate emotions. I wanted to bring some of these ideas into a story.

It was super exciting to see an idea turn into drawings and eventually into a book. 💙
