"I haven't changed how I eat or how I move, and my body is changing anyway."
I hear a version of that every single day in practice.
Two things are true at once. Hormones do shift where fat is stored as estrogen declines, and on average that accounts for an average of 2-5.5lbs of weight gain. Your body used to be more forgiving of inconsistent habits, and in perimenopause the margins get tighter, with less room for error. None of it is inevitable. This stage is actually the best window for preventive care, because the changes you make now protect you in the long-term.
That's what my session, "Metabolism in Midlife: How it Changes, Key Cardiometabolic Tests, & Non-Scale Wins that Matter", is about at the 2026 Perimenopause Summit, an online event running September 21 to 24.
The 23 speakers across the four days also cover sleep, strength, hormones and more. Your free ticket covers every session, each one open to watch for 24 hours after it airs.
I would love for you to join me. Grab your free ticket by commenting "summit" below — this is such a beautiful opportunity to get the evidence-based education you deserve.
