CDA member Dr. Ivan Litvinov recently joined CTV Your Morning to discuss the rising rates of skin cancer in Canada and the importance of early detection and sun safety. ☀️

During the segment, Dr. Litvinov shared findings from new Canadian research showing that people are spending more time in the sun while using less sun protection. He also discussed the increasing rates of melanoma and the long-term impact of sunburns, particularly during childhood and adolescence.

June 1–7 marks Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) Awareness Week.

Shantell began experiencing symptoms at just 13 years old. After years of unanswered questions, multiple surgeries, and treatments that often made her condition worse, she was finally referred to a dermatologist and diagnosed with HS at age 18.

After years of uncertainty, finally receiving a diagnosis gave Shantell clarity and a better understanding of what she was facing. With ongoing support from her dermatologist, she was able to access the specialized care she needed to help manage her condition.
