MAP Physiotherapy

MAP Physiotherapy Is your body robbing you of joy? We can help you rediscover your love for life. Maybe you can’t pick up your kids and swing them around because your back hurts.

Perhaps you have given up your favourite activity due to an injury that won’t go away. When you can’t rely on your body to support your spirit, life is less enjoyable. You go from therapist to therapist seeking help. One person helps you with a certain aspect, while another helps you with a different bit. They touch upon the problem a piece at a time. And then one day you realize that you are not

finding what you are looking for. Treatment x, y, and z haven’t given you what you need. What is it that’s missing? Joy. It is only when all systems in your body are working together that you can restore joy in your life. And that doesn’t happen one piece at a time.

I see too many people later in life with serious issues caused by misalignment that occurred when they carried and birthed their children. These issues were never resolved and now they are paying the price. Everyone who has ever carried a child should have a tune-up. It would avoid countless issues later on. Link in bio for more info.

Asymmetry in babies is not what is expected in a newborn. It can lead to issues like flattening of the head on one side. If you see this it needs to be dealt with or it will have consequences later in life. It can be treated with hands-on techniques to restore alignment and then all is good. See link in bio for more information.

Have you ever ended a friendship as an adult? I know I have. Sometimes it's abrupt and at other times people just quietly fade from you life. Some people see this as a failure, but I don't see it that way at all.

I am not at all the same person I was ten years ago, let alone almost 40 years ago when I settled in Ottawa. So it makes sense to me that friendships might no longer be a good fit. While it might be painful at the time, in the end it' for the best for everyone.

"Letting go of a friendship doesn’t mean you’re heartless. It doesn’t mean the love wasn’t real. It means you’re honoring who you are now—and what you need.

💛 You’re allowed to choose peace
💛 You’re allowed to grow
💛 You’re allowed to close a chapter, even if it once meant everything to you"

I love this way of looking at it.

Wondering if it’s time to end a friendship? Learn how to recognize when a friendship no longer serves you and why letting go can be an act of self-care. Explore 7 clear signs it might be time to walk away, plus the key questions to ask yourself when a connection starts to feel off.

"Everyone has ADHD now thanks to smartphones and constant digital stimulation."

Have you heard anyone make this statement? The reality is that constant electronic stimulation does not cause ADHD, but it certainly can mimic symptoms such as difficulty staying on task and challenges with filtering out irrelevant information.

"For individuals with ADHD, these platforms may be particularly engaging. Research indicates that ADHD is associated with differences in working memory, response inhibition, and reward processing, which may increase susceptibility to the rapid, unpredictable reinforcement cycles built into social media. Consequently, intense social media use may mimic ADHD-like attentional patterns in some individuals and amplify existing challenges for those with a formal diagnosis."

This article presents an interesting discussion on this topic. Food for thought.

If you were born with a va**na, you need to listen to this podcast with Dr. Rachel Rubin. Dr. Rubin is a urologist who focusses on women's s*xual health. She is incredibly knowledgeable and she is also really good at making things understandable.

In this podcast she is going to tell you everything you never knew (and most doctors don't know) about your ge****ls and how hormones impact these structures at all stages of life.

She is going to explain things like
- why you get repeated urinary tract infections after having s*x, even in your younger years
- how pregnancy and the post-partum period are hormonally like menopause (and therefore can be associated with the same symptoms)
- why s*x can be painful for so many people at all different stages of life, but particularly in menopause
- why the vulvar vestibule is one of the most important body parts you need to know about that no one ever even told you you have
- one completely ignored reason why some women have difficulty having an or**sm and how this is treatable

I guarantee you your mind will be blown by the information in this podcast. And information is power. It is a brick at over two hours long, but I promise it is a good investment of your time, no matter how old you are.

Most women don’t know this, and this information could save the life of a woman you love.
