Sharing your child's autism diagnosis is one of the most personal decisions you will make as a parent or caregiver. You know your child best, so you’ll know when they’re ready.

Whether your child is just starting to ask questions or you have been thinking about this for a while, knowing how to approach the conversation can help. If you choose to share, it may help your child understand their behaviours and feelings, build self-advocacy skills, and feel less alone.

Swipe for a guide on how to approach the conversation, celebrate their strengths, and support them every step of the way. 👉

Did you know that 85 percent of all early learning occurs through vision?

For children born with or who acquire blindness or low vision, early intervention is key. The earlier a visual impairment is identified, the better the outcomes for a child's development and communication goals.

Swipe to learn the signs to look out for. 👉

At Surrey Place, our Blind-Low Vision Early Intervention Program supports families whose child may have a vision impairment from birth to school entry. We provide in-home support, community consultation and more for families across Ontario.

Meet Jeffrey, an Audiologist at Surrey Place. 🗣️

Did you know that hearing loss in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities often goes undiagnosed? For many clients, unresponsiveness to sound can be mistaken for their disability rather than a sign of hearing loss. That is why access to audiology services is so important.

At Surrey Place, our audiologists take a creative approach to hearing assessments, adapting how they test to meet each client where they are.

Because when it comes to hearing health, access changes everything.
