We’re excited to look back at some of our favourite moments from each of the sport stations in the PLAY Stream at the inaugural OneAbility Games.

Next up: Sitting Volleyball

Participants had the chance to try sitting volleyball, learning the basics of the sport while developing their passing, serving, communication, and teamwork skills. With everyone playing from a seated position, the court became a space where participants could experience volleyball in a new way, challenge themselves, and have fun together.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners Volleyball BC and VBC Sitting Volleyball for helping make this experience possible. Your support, expertise, and commitment to inclusive sport helped create a welcoming environment where every participant could get involved, try something new, and discover the fun of sitting volleyball.

We’re so grateful to Volleyball BC for being part of the inaugural OneAbility Games and helping us introduce more young people to the possibilities of inclusive sport.

Balls rolling, sticks moving, and plenty of goals being celebrated! Participants got to wheelchair and adapted floorball, learning the basics of stick handling, passing, shooting, and playing together. For many, it was their first chance to experience the sport, and we loved seeing the curiosity, enthusiasm, and teamwork that filled the floor.

Kinda chic, no?

OneAbility Games is all about creating spaces where every child gets to play, participate, and feel like they belong.

And honestly? We think inclusion looks pretty darn chic😉

OneAbility Games 2026: Celebrating the Magic 🎉

We are so excited to share this recap video of the Inaugural OneAbility Games so that those of you that weren’t able to join us in person can witness the ✨magic✨ we keep referencing.

The joy, the celebration, the competition, the friendships, the space where every single person felt like they belonged. That’s what this is all about.

Sport is for everyone, and we are so excited to have created an event where that was realized.

Thank you to everyone that was a part of the Inaugural OneAbility Games — it would not have happened without you.

We can’t wait to do it again May 19-24, 2027 🩷🧡🩵💜💙

Video Description: The video opens on Richmond Olympic oval, then shows short clips of kids with disabilities of all ages entering as part of the opening ceremonies and being celebrated. Kids, volunteers, and sport leaders are shown trying various sports like soccer, racing, floorball, and so much more. We see Stephanie Cadieux, Chief Accessibility Officer for Canada, on stage speaking to the impact, along with Andrea Carey, Executive Director, and Nathan Clement, Paralympian. The video closes featuring short clips from the three ACHIEVE sports in action: goalball, wheelchair basketball and blind hockey, along with celebration as the SuperHeros athletes compete.
