I used to think wealth meant having more money…
Now I think it means needing less.

As we get older, our definition of wealth can change.

Real wealth isn’t just what’s sitting in your bank account.

It’s waking up in a body that feels cared for, that moves and does what you expect.

It’s having a mind that knows how to slow down.

It’s friends who know the real you—and still chooses you.

It’s having time for a quiet morning.

A walk without an agenda.

A cup of tea you actually sit down to enjoy.

A yoga practice that brings you back to yourself.

A bath.
Aromatherapy rituals.
A journal.
A candle.
A few deep breaths.
A ritual that reminds your nervous system:

You are safe.
You are here.
You don’t have to rush.

Maybe wealth later in life is having the freedom to stop chasing everything and everyone. Giving yourself permission to say, No a little more often to protect your peace.

As educators, we spend our days helping students navigate big emotions, challenging moments, and unexpected behaviours.

But co-regulation starts with us.

If your nervous system is running on stress, overwhelm, or survival mode, it becomes much harder to offer the calm presence your students need—not because you’re doing anything wrong, but because your body is working hard to get through the day.

Supporting students begins with supporting yourself.

Grounded Before the Bell: An Educator Workshop is designed for teachers, CYWs, EAs, DECEs, principals, and anyone working with students or clients who wants practical, evidence-informed strategies to regulate their own nervous system and create calmer, safer learning environments.
