Recovery can be more than learning how to cope.
It can be a process of reconnecting with yourself.
For more than five years, I have worked therapeutically with people experiencing addiction and recovery. One thing this work has taught me is that recovery is rarely a straight line.
It can involve stress, anxiety, cravings, disrupted sleep, emotional ups and downs, fatigue, uncertainty and the challenge of rebuilding a sense of stability and trust in yourself.
My work as an Integrative Yoga Psychotherapist offers a space to meet these experiences with compassion and curiosity.
We begin where you are.
Sometimes that means learning how to feel safer in your body.
Sometimes it means developing tools to regulate the nervous system and manage overwhelm.
And, when there is enough safety and stability, our work may gently move deeper — exploring patterns, emotions, beliefs, relationships and experiences that may be asking to be understood.
There is no pressure to go anywhere before you are ready.
The intention is to help you reconnect with your own resources, develop a greater sense of choice and, ultimately, rediscover a sense of wholeness.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you begin.
