Helping your child learn new words 🤩

Talking to your child in the moment helps their language grow. Try describing what’s happening as you go — “We’re putting on your coat”

You can also build great communication skills by giving simple choices: “Do you want the blue cup or the red cup?”

Try matching what they say (“Ball!” → “Yes, a ball”) and gently stretching it (“A red ball”).

These small moments build big vocabularies and confident little communicators every day.

Type 1 diabetes can develop at any age — but in children, the signs can be easy to miss. You might notice things that just aren’t normal for your child.

When to Get Help:

If your child seems very unwell, or these symptoms have appeared suddenly, it’s important to get medical advice straight away.

Contact your GP for an urgent appointment

Or call NHS 111 for immediate guidance

Early diagnosis can prevent serious complications.
