A two day Navigation course split over two different weekends tailored to the requirement of 3 friends. We had amazing weather. Well what did we learn... LOADS!
The compass of scareyness basically points at stuff.... its the information you put around it that makes it useful. We made Marvellous Mistakes.... who doesn't, but learning from them makes for excellent knowledge.
Great gang who were just ace! Now go practice in the wild ⛰️❤️

** NEW PEAK DISTRICT WAYFARER**

After the success of the last walk, we have another amazing outing planned for July... on a Sunday this time.

This day out starts and finishes in Hathersage in the Peak District. The scenic loop takes in some fantastic and varied terrain. Open moorland, the mighty gritstones edges and of course a couple of trigs to keep the trig baggers happy! Distance: just under 13 miles with 1900 feet of elevation. This....

When the weather in Skye tries to scupper your adventures... having the best gang means everything! Nothing stopped us from having the best time. Top scrambles up Sgurr mhic choinnich and Sgurr Dearg... conquering my ambition to do the Inaccessible Pinnacle whilst stopped us from dying! Here's to the next adventure... ❤️

The White Peak Wander Walk from Monyash today.
A great group and absolutely wonderful weather ☀️☀️☀️
The 13 mile route took in Magpie Mine, The River Lathkill and River Bradford and then Lathkill Dale to finish. We sat and watched the clearest rivers ever full of wildlife and ticked off flower identification along the way.

I couldn’t have wished for a better gang of people to join me on The Derby Adventurers first outing.

3 full days in Eryri, great weather (for Wales!) and amazing views. We conquered some challenging routes in places and were rewarded with a sense of achievement.

We came away with tired legs, full hearts and a calmness the mountains always provide.
Here’s to the next outing... thanks everyone 💚.

🪻🪻🪻 White Peak Wander 🪻🪻🪻

Date: 23rd May 2026
Distance: 12 miles with 1554 ft of ascent.

A beautiful and relaxed walk in the White Peak area.
No pressure of pace, just a lovely day out with hopefully some added ☀️ some spring flowers 🪻and maybe a White throated Dipper if we are lucky 🐧 (ok... I know thats not a dipper... but it's the best if could do 🤣)
